About Me

Jaimi Grether began playing the violin at the age of nine after her mother won tickets to see the Dayton Philharmonic Children's concert. She loved the feeling of drowning in the music in the concert hall and knew that playing the violin was what she wanted to do from that moment. She asked if she could play her grandfather's violin and pinned the concert program to the wall in her room as motivation for practicing.  Jaimi took private lessons for many years and studied with wonderful teachers at summer programs, as well at Miami University. She had a detour into becoming a Registered Nurse, but within a year of working, she returned to the violin with lessons with Brian Reagin. Jaimi is so happy that her life is full of weddings, private parties, and corporate events, as well as subbing with the North Carolina Symphony and playing regularly with other groups such as the North Carolina Opera, Carolina Philharmonic, Tar River Orchestra, and more.

For Jaimi, playing the violin isn’t just a performance; it’s storytelling, emotion, and connection woven through sound.
